2007 CBPO Report CardAnnual Bay Reports Released
Two reports that evaluate and examine the status of the Bay were recently released. EcoCheck, a NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office-University of Maryland Center for Environmental Studies partnership, developed the 2007 Chesapeake Bay Report Card. The Chesapeake Bay Program, in which the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office is a partner, released its 2007 Chesapeake Bay Health and Restoration Report.

NOAA: GLOBAL TEMPS SEVENTH WARMEST FOR SPRING - The combined average global land and ocean surface temperatures for spring (March-May) ranked seventh warmest since worldwide records began in 1880 according to an analysis by NOAA's National Climatic Data Center.
 
NOAA, PARTNERS RESTORE HABITAT ON CAPE COD - NOAA and local and national partners have successfully completed a multiyear project to restore a salt marsh and fish passage for migrating herring on Cape Cod.
 
NOAA PROPOSES RULE TO REQUIRE SALTWATER ANGLER REGISTRATION - NOAA is seeking comment on a proposed rule that requires anglers and spear fishers who fish recreationally in federal ocean waters to be registered before fishing in 2009.
