All of the NOAA-sponsored projects listed below have a common theme: They involve proactive groups of citizen volunteers, private organizations, local and state agencies, and federal partners working together to accomplish a singular goal. Community-based grants promote stewardship and a conservation ethic among coastal communities, while research grants advance the science and technology of coastal habitat restoration.

These projects are representative of the types of projects in which NOAA’s Chesapeake Bay Office has played a role in the past. More projects are under way around the Bay every day.
